~ART BLOG AND~ ~PORTFOLIO~

1) Would have to be the Plague Doctor Project as its due to the fact that the pencil lines came out rather neatly and clean. Its also due to the fact of how many compliments I got on it- Mostly due to the charcoal in it as well. 2) Would have to be the Wendigo pencil sketch as I could've gone over it in paint or something to make it look better. I also could have sktech the horns out better. 3) Between the Girl painting and the Woman painting I would say I did better on the Woman color wise as the blues in the Girl painting didn't come out how I wanted. As for the ones in the Woman, they came out nice and smooth- Though the browns did intermix badly. 4) As a unit I feel as if the school should get us tablets for art as I feel as if it would help people get better. From what I've heard, people have gotten better due to learning how to draw in on tablets. It would be costly but I feel as if it could help people get better.

I did this as a pencil drawing for halloween. It was meant to be a deer at first, but it soon turned into this. Later I went over it with paint, but I can't find that image of it, so this'll do. As for how long, it took about two days to complete- The head took the longest. Shading and deepening the lines didn't take that long however, so it made it easier to do once I finished the skull.
This was a chacoal piece I had done to make up for a fingerpainting piece I did. It took about twenty or so minutes and the process was pretty easy to do. The shadding was nicely done on my part, as I gave it to a friend as a present soon after. As for the process I did it in pencil first, then I went over it with charcoal, then shaded it with the resedue left over by it.
I had themed this in as a sort of abstract art theme made with chalk pastels.
I had mainly used the chalk pastels due to the way they could blend so easily- As Oil pastels were too solid and crayon-like. My inspiration for this came from people dyeing their hair as a way of expression. I also gained inspiration from the Zonkey drawing in the room- Mainly due to the colors being used in. I do feel that I could've worked in on the design for the face better, as well as the angle of the nose, as the perspective is a bit off on it. I also feel that I could've used better colors in for the the hair since the red background threw it off a bit. I also feel as if I could've drawn in eyes, but then again this was an abstract of sorts. |
